The hosting services we use enable us to provide the following services: Infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, memory and database services, security services and technical maintenance services, which we use to operate our website. In this context, we, or our hosting provider, process inventory data, contact data, content data, contractual data, usage data, metadata and communication data of customers, prospective buyers and visitors to this website on the basis of our legitimate interests in the efficient and secure provision of the website in accordance with Art. 6(1f) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 28 GDPR.
2.2 Access data
We collect information about you when you use this website. We automatically collect information about your user activity and your interaction with us, and register data about your computer or mobile device. We collect, store and use data about any access to our website (server log files).
Access data includes:
- Name and URL of the requested file
- Date and time of access
- Volume of data transferred
- Report on successful access (HTTP response code)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referrer URL (the web page visited beforehand)
- Websites to which the user's system gains access via our website
- The user's Internet service provider
We use this log data, without assigning it to you personally or otherwise profiling it, for statistical analyses for the purpose of operating, optimising and ensuring the security of our website, anonymously recording the number of visitors to our website (traffic) and the extent and nature of the use of our website and services, and to measure the number of clicks received by cooperation partners for billing purposes. On the basis of this information, we can provide personalised and location-specific content, analyse the data traffic, find and rectify errors and improve our services.
We have a legitimate interest therein in accordance with Art. 6(1f) GDPR. We reserve the right to examine the log data retrospectively if there are specific grounds to suspect unlawful use.
We store IP addresses for a limited period in the log files, if this is necessary for security purposes or for the provision of a service or billing, e.g. if you take advantage of any of our offers. If you abort the order process, and after we receive your payment, we shall erase the IP address, unless it is still required for security purposes. We also store IP addresses if we suspect a criminal offence relating to the use of our website. Moreover, we store data relating to your last visit as part of your account (e.g. registration, log-in, clicking of links).
We use session cookies to optimise our website. A session cookie is a small text file sent by the relevant servers when you visit a website and stored on your hard drive. The file contains a session ID which is used to assign various requests from your browser to the shared session. It is used to recognise your computer when you return to our website. These cookies are erased after you close your browser. They are used, for example, to enable use of the shopping basket function across multiple pages.
To a limited extent, we also use persistent cookies (also small text files that are stored on your device) which remain on your device and enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit. These cookies are stored on your hard drive and erased automatically after the specified time. They are saved for 1 month up to 10 years. This enables us to make our website more effective, secure and user-friendly, and to display information tailored specifically to your interests, for example.
The following data and information are stored in the cookies:
- Log-in information
- Language settings
- Search terms entered
- Information about the number of visits to our website and the use of its individual features.
When the cookie is activated, it is assigned an identification number; your personal data is not assignedto this identification number. Your name, IP address or similar data that would enable assignment of the cookie to you are not stored in the cookie. On the basis of the cookie technology, we receive only pseudonymised information, for example about which pages of our shop were visited and which products were viewed.
You can configure your browser to notify you before cookies are set so you can decide, on a case-by-case basis, whether or not to accept cookies for specific situations or in general, or to block cookies altogether. Doing so may impair the functionality of the website.
2.4 E-mail contact
If you contact us (e.g. via the contact form or by e-mail), we will store your data for the purpose of processing your query and in the event of follow-up questions. We have a legitimate interest therein in accordance with Art. 6(1f) GDPR. We store and use additional personal data only if you consent to our doing so or if permitted by law without your specific consent.
2.5 Storage period
Unless specified, we store your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.
